Yes! With Scuba Dive Online, you’ll begin your PADI IDC Course in the Dominican Republic by attending our live online training. The IDC LIVE section runs for 7 consecutive days (plus an optional 8th day for EFR Instructor academics), 3 hours per day, and is designed to fit multiple time zones. This online portion covers all academic and classroom workshops, so when you arrive at Reef Oasis Dive Club, you’ll focus entirely on the in-water training over 8 days—followed by the 2-day Instructor Examination (IE). The IDC LIVE can be started on the 1st or 15th of any month.

We recommend completing it the month before your IDC to keep everything fresh.

The total price is US$ 3,600, which includes the IDC LIVE online, the in-water IDC in the Dominican Republic, your full PADI IDC Crewpak, all PADI Instructor Specialties, and PADI Fees.

The IDC LIVE online section can be started on the 1st or 15th of any month, giving you flexibility to begin when it suits you. We recommend completing the online portion the month before your in-water training.

The 2025 in-water IDC dates at Reef Oasis Dive Club are as follows:

  • IDC Prep: May 21–26 | IDC: May 27–June 4 | IE: June 5–6
  • IDC Prep: Sept 25–30 | IDC: Oct 1–9 | IE: Oct 10–11
  • IDC Prep: Nov 19–24 | IDC: Nov 25–Dec 3 | IE: Dec 4–5

To enroll in the PADI Instructor Course in Dominican Republic, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old. 
  • Be a certified Divemaster (or an equivalent certification from another agency).
  • Have been a certified diver for at least six months. 
  • Have at least 90 logged dives (with experience in night, deep, and navigation diving) before the course starts, and 100 logged dives before the Instructor Exam.
  •  (IE) Be medically fit for diving, with a physician-signed medical statement issued within the last 12 months. 
  • Have completed CPR and First Aid training within the last 24 months (The PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course fulfills this requirement)

If you are missing any prerequisites, our team can advise you on how to meet them before your arrival.

Citizens from most countries can enter the Dominican Republic without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. A tourist card is typically issued upon arrival. However, we always recommend checking the latest entry requirements based on your nationality before booking your trip.

Expect vibrant reef dives, thrilling wreck explorations, and encounters with turtles, reef sharks, and schools of jacks. From December to April, witness humpback whales off the Silver Bank—one of the most awe-inspiring seasonal spectacles in the Caribbean.
