  • – Observe Instructor Examinations – Observe the orientation and closing sessions of PADI Instructor Examinations.

TRAINING, EVALUATION AND MENTORSHIP

The PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course on Koh Tao is designed to refine evaluation skills, deepen understanding of instructor development and prepare candidates for leadership roles in dive education. Before the course begins, candidates complete a pre assessment that includes dive theory and PADI standards examinations, knowledge development presentations and practical evaluations in confined water and open water. Consequently, this ensures a strong foundation before progressing into the main programme.

Throughout the course, you participate in instructor development workshops that focus on how to assess and mentor instructor candidates effectively. Furthermore, you refine your ability to evaluate teaching presentations, deliver structured feedback and develop strong counselling techniques. A key element of the course is the opportunity to either audit a full Instructor Development Course or deliver the complete Assistant Instructor course, providing valuable hands on experience at instructor level.

By the end of the programme, you will have the skills, confidence and experience required to mentor future instructors, assist in Instructor Development Courses and independently conduct Assistant Instructor courses as a Staff Instructor on Koh Tao.

To enrol, you must be at least 18 years old, a certified PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT), a current Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor, and medically fit for diving with a physician-signed statement within the last 12 months.
