A Busy Summer Season for the Scuba Dive Online team

As the summer sun blazes across the globe, our Scuba Dive Online family has been busier than ever, shaping the next generation of PADI professionals. It’s been a busy summer season. With July and August filled with success stories. Additionally, we’ve made some exciting new partnerships, and preparations for our most spectacular event yet is underway. Here’s a look into what we’ve been up to.

IDC Successes in Koh Tao and Beyond

July was a triumphant month for our IDC candidates! Elio, Anna, and Ewan successfully completed their PADI Instructor Exams on the picturesque Koh Tao, guided by our expert PADI Course Director, Neil Richards. Additionally, each new PADI Instructor has secured positions, either at Davy Jones Locker or elsewhere. Their journey from IDC candidates to instructors has been incredible to witness.

In August, the success continued as Louisa passed her IDC at Davy Jones Locker. As a result, she is preparing for her new role as a PADI Instructor in Egypt’s crystal-clear waters. Congratulations, Louisa!

Busy Times at Assava Dive Resort

Also our partner, Assava Dive Resort, a PADI 5 Star IDC Centre on Koh Tao, has had an exciting few months. PADI Course Director Heidi Rijsdijk led an IDC with candidates Rod, Tony, and Kelly. Additionally, we are proud to share that Lin, a passionate instructor, earned his PADI Staff Instructor rating. Congratulations, Lin, on reaching this important milestone in your diving career!

Exciting Upcoming Event: The Maldives IDC Internship

As we head into September, Scuba Dive Online are preparing for the upcoming Maldives eight-week PADI IDC internship. Hosted by the luxurious Four Seasons, this exclusive IDC will feature not only 8 well prepared and eager candidates but also 2 PADI IDC Staff Instructor courses.

Neil Richards, our veteran PADI Course Director, will be leading this course. Also with the Maldives’ reputation for breathtaking marine life, participants can expect encounters with sharks, manta rays, and other magnificent creatures. We can’t wait to share more about this event as it unfolds!

New Partnerships and Welcome Backs

We are delighted to welcome some new hand-picked partner centres to the Scuba Dive Online family.

Roatan Divers, PADI 5 Star IDC centre located in the stunning tropical paradise of Roatan, Honduras, is now partnered with us. PADI Course Director Fernanda Paiva will be leading the IDC candidates after they complete the IDC LIVE online classroom section with our own Monique Richards. Roatan’s vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life make it an idyllic location for budding instructors to refine their skills.
Devocean Divers, based in Malapascua, Philippines, is another fantastic addition to our network. Malapascua is famous for its beautiful beaches and for being one of the few places in the world where divers can regularly encounter the elusive thresher sharks.

Lastly, we welcome back PADI course Director, Tim Hunt to Thailand! After working with PADI North America’s team on contract, Tim has returned to work at Assava Dive Resort alongside his wife, PADI Course Director Natalie Hunt. We look forward to the incredible energy and expertise Tim will bring back to our Scuba Dive Online family.
