This PADI IDC course in Roatan, Honduras is hosted at our Scuba Dive Online PADI 5 Star IDC partner centre, Roatan Divers, and is led by PADI Course Director Fernanda Paiva. Fernanda brings a strong, conservation focused approach to professional level training. In addition, Roatan Divers is a multi award winning PADI 5 Star IDC Eco Centre and a PADI Tec Centre, known for high training standards and environmental awareness.

Yes. With the IDC LIVE hybrid option from Scuba Dive Online, you can begin your training from home before travelling to Roatan. The online section covers all IDC classroom workshops over seven consecutive days, with sessions lasting around three hours per day.

After completing the online portion, you will continue your PADI IDC course in Roatan with the in water programme at Roatan Divers. Course Director Fernanda will mentor the eight day in water IDC, followed by the two day Instructor Examination. IDC LIVE sessions start on the 1st and 15th of every month. For best results, we recommend completing your online training the month before your in water IDC so the knowledge remains fresh.

    • Online: March 15-21. IDC In-water: April 9-16. IE: April 18-19

    • Online: August 1-7. IDC In-water: August 11-18. IE: August 20-21

    • Online: September 15-21. IDC In-water: October 8-15. IE: October 17-18. 

Places are limited in order to maintain small group sizes and high quality mentoring. Early booking is recommended.

Roatan offers a rich variety of dive experiences and underwater environments.
Reef Diving: Explore the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second longest reef system in the world. Roatan’s fringing reefs sit close to shore and feature dramatic walls, swim throughs and healthy coral formations, all with excellent visibility.
Wall Diving: Descend along steep reef walls that drop into deep blue water. These walls are covered in sponges, sea fans and soft corals, creating striking backdrops for both training and fun dives.
Marine Life: Roatan’s reefs are home to turtles, eagle rays, moray eels, groupers and reef sharks. Depending on the season, encounters may also include dolphins and whale sharks, making every dive varied and rewarding.

Most nationalities do not require a visa to enter Roatan, Honduras for up to 90 days. However, entry requirements can vary depending on your passport. We recommend checking with your embassy or consulate for the most up to date visa information before travelling.
