Go beyond Advanced. Become a PADI Divemaster on Koh Tao
For certified divers looking to build experience and move towards a professional level, the PADI Divemaster course on Koh Tao provides a natural next step. The Dive Forward Programme is structured, supportive, and based in one of the world’s leading dive destinations.
Koh Tao offers warm waters, calm conditions, and vibrant marine life. Plus, visibility is often excellent. Dive sites range from shallow coral gardens to deeper pinnacles and shipwrecks. Therefore this creates ideal conditions to develop skills, confidence, and exploration. A perfect place to not only take your courses, but also eventually, live and share your passion for diving with others.
Advanced to PADI Divemaster course Koh Tao: Why Train Here
Divers train at one of two partner centres. Each offering a different experience.
Assava Diving Resort has a boutique, resort feel on a quieter part of the island. It offers a more relaxed atmosphere, with a strong focus on conservation and marine awareness. Therefore, training here suits those who prefer a calmer environment, with time to develop skills in a more personalised setting.
Davy Jones Locker is located closer to the port and has a more social, energetic atmosphere. It is well known for its professional level training, overseen by a Platinum PADI Course Director. Additionally, it has a strong reputation for PADI Tec diving. Courses are available all the way through to Tec Instructor level, alongside regular wreck expeditions. Training here suits those who enjoy a busy dive centre, varied daily experience, and exposure to a wider range of diving opportunities.
How long is the Dive Forward programme?
The Dive Forward Programme runs over 6 weeks and includes PADI Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Emergency First Response (EFR) and the PADI Divemaster course on Koh Tao. Accommodation is included throughout, with modern, clean dorms and discounted upgrades available.
The programme begins with the PADI Advanced Open Water, building confidence through deeper diving, navigation, and new environments such as wreck and night diving. This is followed by the Rescue Diver course, where awareness and problem solving develop through real scenarios and practical training, including Emergency First Response.
The Final Step: PADI Divemaster Course Koh Tao
The final stage is the PADI Divemaster course on Koh Tao, where everything comes together. Divers develop professional level skills while assisting instructors, guiding certified divers, and learning how a dive centre operates day to day. All course materials are included.
As experience builds, diving becomes more than personal enjoyment. It becomes part of a team environment, with regular diving, assisting on courses, and supporting other divers. Confidence, awareness, and leadership develop naturally.
Becoming a Divemaster opens the door to new opportunities. Many go on to travel and work in the dive industry, while others continue to Instructor level. Either way, the PADI Divemaster course on Koh Tao provides a strong foundation for the future.
The Dive Forward Programme is more than training. It is a step towards a new lifestyle built around diving, experience, and development.
