Assava Dive Resort Welcomes New Instructors
This month our Padi 5 Star IDC partner centre, Assava Dive Resort on Koh Tao, proudly added three new PADI Instructors, Tony, Oli, and Bobby, to its team. They completed their IDC training with renowned husband and wife PADI Course Director team, Tim and Natalie Hunt. Also joining the IDC were PADI Staff Instructors Skip and Iggy. They are already, teaching new divers, and sharing their passion for the underwater world.
Successful “Hybrid” IDC with PKT Diving, Phi Phi
At our PADI 5 Star IDC partner centre, PKT Diving in Phi Phi, five IDC candidates completed our “hybrid” IDC this month. Oleg, Romi, Brendo, Viktoria, and Alex trained with our online expert, PADI Course Director Monique Richards. Thanks to our interactive, fun online classes, they were well prepared before they even arrived for their in-water section with PADI Course Director Alex Arnold. Moreover, the candidates bonded as a team online and carried that teamwork into the water. This led to a 100% success rate in the Instructor Exams (IE). With Thailand’s demand for PADI Instructors on the rise, these newly certified pros are already being headhunted. What a team!
Maldives Internship: An Unforgettable Experience
Our Maldives Internship programme, hosted at the Four Seasons Resort, is a once in a lifetime opportunity. This September to October, we had a full house. Eight IDC candidates,Alex, Noe, Lucas, Mohammed, Luis, Christoph, Winona, and Laura, have finished their training under the expert guidance of our PADI Course Director Neil Richards. Additionally, they have worked on Manta Trust projects, Olive Ridley Turtle conservation, and coral reef restoration. Now fully certified, and already teaching, these new instructors are getting hands-on experience running dive centre operations, equipment and compressor maintenance and more. And with daily dives alongside mantas, sharks, and turtles, what more could you ask for? PADI AWARE. PADI IDC with Scuba Dive Online.
September marked PADI AWARE Week. And all our partner centres around the world joined forces to raise awareness of marine conservation. From coral reef preservation to underwater cleanups like “Dive Against Debris,” our teams made a big impact. Additionally, divers collected and logged underwater rubbish through the PADI AWARE app, contributing to valuable citizen science, helping influence environmental policies globally. Our partner centre, Davy Jones Locker on Koh Tao, held Dive Against Debris events every day!
Davy Jones Locker Achieves PADI CDC Status
Speaking of Davy Jones Locker. We are thrilled to announce that once again they have earned the highest dive centre rating, PADI Career Development Centre (CDC). Scuba Dive Online’s very own Neil Richards is leading their IDC programme and mentoring Divemaster trainees alongside a team of amazing PADI Instructors. Congratulations to “DJL” for their continued excellence in diving education!
Infinity2Diving in Tulum: New Instructors on the Scene
This month, Infinity2Diving, the only PADI 5 Star CDC centre in Tulum, Mexico, certified six new PADI Instructors. Congratulations to Nicole, Isa, Gabriel, Elle, Edder, and Tess! Led by two passionate female PADI Course Directors Ivana and Victoria, this centre also specializes in Cenote cave diving and even offers PADI Mermaid courses. These new instructors are in great hands, not only to start their PADI teaching career, but also explore the Cenotes of Mexico!
Whale Sharks in the Gulf of Thailand
As Autumn rolls in, it’s the perfect time to catch a glimpse of the magnificent whale sharks in the Gulf of Thailand. These gentle giants are a common sight this season. So, we have been lucky to have regular encounters. This picture was taken by our partner centre, Sail Rock Divers, PADI 5 Star CDC centre on Koh Phangan. Whale sharks, the largest fish in the sea, are filter feeders and are no threat to divers. This makes them a favourite for underwater adventurers.
