Take your PADI IDC in the Dominican Republic
In the heart of the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic offers a diverse array of both land and water based experiences. It’s mountainous, lush terrain is perfect for hiking, caving, and adventure.
Santo Domingo is full of colonial heritage, and for culture enthusiasts, Friday nights brim with the rhythm of merengue in the local dance halls. From December to April, humpback whales can be witnessed in the Silver Bank. And all this is in addition to the incredible diving.
Diving in the Dominican Republic is an awe-inspiring experience. You will encounter turtles gliding by, curious reef sharks patrolling as well as barracuda and jacks. The coral reefs are home to seahorses and octopuses plus an array of colourful reef fish. There are ship wreck to explore, ideal for taking your PADI Wreck specialty instructor course. This is the Dominican Republic, and this is where you will find PADI 5 Star IDC centre, Reef Oasis Dive Club.
Scuba Dive Online are delighted to be partnered with PADI 5 Star ID centre, Reef Oasis Dive Club, Dominican Republic, which is located at the Wyndam all inclusive resort in Bayahibe. PADI Platinum Course director, Kai Steinbeck will be your mentor and is one of the regular faces in our Scuba Dive Online IDC LIVE online sessions.
The Reef Oasis Dive club offers a stunning beach location with crystal clear pools several boats to take you to the breathtaking surrounding dive sites and excellent classroom facilities.
If you decide to take your IDC at Reef Oasis Dive Club in the Dominican Republic, your PADI Course Director Kai, offers two separate options: Either the full 15 day, in-person IDC. Or our unique time and money saving half online and half in-water IDC.
For the IDC LIVE online candidates:
Scuba Dive Online IDC candidates attend the “IDC LIVE” online section before their trip to Dominican Republic. This covers all IDC classroom curriculum workshops leaving only the in-water sections to complete at Reef Oasis Dive Club. The IDC LIVE online workshops take place over 7 consecutive days, (plus an optional 8th day for EFR Instructor academics) 3 hours per day and can accommodate different time zones. Once the online section is complete, candidates will join the in-water section of their IDC over 8 days in Dominican Republic with PADI Course Director Kai Steinbeck, followed by a 2 day IE. Reef Oasis dive Club are offering three IDCs in 2024. The IDC LIVE online can be completed beforehand on the 1st or the 15th of any month. (We advise completing the IDC LIVE online the month before your IDC so the information is still fresh) The full IDC (Prep week) and in-water only section dates at Reef Oasis Dive Club are:
