IDC Internships for 2023 in The Maldives.
Scuba Dive Online hand pick their PADI 5 Star IDC host facilities, and we have a strong relationship with Four Seasons Maldives, who will hold two PADI IDC Internships per year. Places on this exclusive two-month internship are limited to eight per course, therefore, to enrol candidates will need to apply and have an interview to be accepted.
Scuba Dive Online founder and PADI Course Director Tim Hunt will be your IDC mentor during the IDC and MSDT sections of your Internship. Tim has been a PADI Instructor for 23 Years and has worked all over the world. Moreover, he was a PADI Territory Director and a PADI Examiner for 10 years – who better to guide you through your IDC! We are offering two IDC Internships in 2023, starting June 1st and September 4th.
Preparing for the IDC in advance.
The more prepared you are, the more you will enjoy your IDC. Before attending, you need complete the 16 self-study eLearning sections in the IDC digital crewpak, which prepare you for classroom workshops and presentations. There are also some great study tools in the crewpak, such as the Diving Knowledge Workbook. This covers all Dive Theory subjects, Physics, Physiology, Decompression Theory, Equipment and Skills and Environment. Working your way through these before attending will prepare you for the Theory and workshop subjects we cover during the IDC. During your IDC.
The workshops and curriculum presentations (largely conducted online) encourage discussion and role-playing real-life teaching situations, plus they can be very funny, with candidates miming their skills before going into the water. You will also learn how to schedule and set-up your own courses in a variety of different environments.
Lots of time is spent underwater on our house reef, fine tuning your skills to demonstration quality. Plus, you will learn how to conduct Confined Water, Open Water and Knowledge Development teaching presentations. We will cover DSD in confined and open water, rescue practice and scenarios, deep assessments and adventure dive workshops plus more.
It also includes the EFR Instructor practical training, and exams. There will be additional practice exams given in class plus extra knowledge development presentations and dry workshops. During this time, you will also have the option to complete 5 Instructor specialties for your MSDT preparation. The MSDT prep can be added for only 500 US$ including PADI fees. We teach way more than the minimum number of presentations needed to complete the course, so by the time you finish the IDC, you will be more than ready to attend your PADI Instructor Examinations.
