Take the PADI Master Scuba Diver Challenge.

PADI DPV Specialty

Are you ready for the Challenge?

Have you enjoyed an activity so much that you wanted to go further and get the highest rating?  For example, were you a swimmer at school and obtained all your swimming medals from 10 metres to 1000 metres?   Or did you start martial arts as a child and fought to achieve each belt, from beginner white belt, through yellow and all the way up to expert black belt?

Well, the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating is exactly that; The “black belt” of recreational diving.

When a Master Scuba Diver boards the dive boat, the dive guide knows that this is a recreational diver with experience beyond the norm.  They have passed entry level certification, advanced and rescue diver. They have had adventures taking PADI specialties and decided rather than taking the professional route, they want to be on the top rung of the recreational diving ladder.

PADI Wreck Diver Specialty

How do I become a Master Scuba Diver?

To become a Master Scuba Diver, you will need to be at least 12 years old, PADI Rescue diver (or equivalent), have at least 50 logged dives and five PADI specialty certifications.  Amongst the most popular PADI specialties are Enriched Air Nitrox, Deep Diver, Night Diver, Wreck Diver, Search and Recovery Diver, Underwater Navigator, Digital Underwater Photography, Drift Diver and many more.  You can take each specialty one at a time, and for many of them you can be a junior open water diver to start.

Start today with PADI eLearning.

The Scuba Dive Online team are qualified to teach all PADI specialties.  And what better way to prepare than to start all five specialties online with PADI eLearning.  This means that when you arrive at your chosen dive destination, whether it be your local dive shop, or somewhere exotic once travel restrictions are lifted, you can dive straight in to complete the in-water part of your chosen specialty courses.

PADI Fish ID Specialty.

What is involved?

Each PADI specialty has a different number of dives, according to the complexity of the course.  For example, PADI Deep Diver has four open Water dives, whereas PADI Drift Diver has two. The Enriched Air Nitrox course is PADI’s most popular specialty and is a dry course. So you can complete it entirely online, including certification. Check out the details on the Scuba Dive Online website under the PADI specialties section.  You will also see that children as young as 10 years old can take many of the PADI specialties so they too can work towards this top recreational dive rating.

How do I apply?

Once you have completed the PADI eLearning and dives for each of your 5 chosen specialties, have your Rescue certification and 50 logged dives, your PADI Instructor will help you process your Master Scuba Diver Application. Then you will become a “black belt” recreational diver!
