It's Time to Start Your Adventure

Scuba diving is a way to explore the underwater world in new and different ways. PADI Specialty Diver courses teach you new techniques and give you the tools to enhance your exploration. Each course certification counts towards the Master Scuba Diver rating, the highest PADI recreational dive qualification.
PADI Divers
PADI BOAT DIVER

Description: Did you know the “head” on a boat is actually the toilet? Avoid potentially awkward moments talking to the boat crew and not knowing about the platform from which you’re diving. On boats you will also be able to reach the furthest away, most untouched reefs. During the PADI Boat Diver Specialty you will learn the advantages of boat diving, terminology, boat safety, guidelines and lots more. Just imagine the marine life you will see when diving with your buddy into the blue from a dive boat.

Dives: Two Open Water boat dives.

Prerequisites: To be a PADI Boat Diver you must be at least 10 years old and have the (Junior} Open Water diver certification or above. 

PADI Deep Diver
PADI DEEP DIVER

Description: The lure of the deep.  Almost every scuba diver at some time point has had the strong urge to dive deeper.  Beginner divers fulfil that urge by becoming PADI Advanced divers and dive to 30 metres.  The logical next step is the PADI Deep Diver Specialty certifying you to dive to 40 metres.  During the course you will learn about equipment, techniques and skills needed to deep dive safely. Whether you want to see hammerhead sharks, a shipwreck or photograph a rare black coral at depth, there is always a reason to go deep!

Dives: Four Open Water dives.

Prerequisites: For the PADI Deep Diver certification you must be at least 15 years old and have the Adventure diver certification or above.

PADI Digital Underwater Photography
PADI DIGITAL UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY

Description: This is one of the most popular underwater activities for divers worldwide. The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty will take you through the techniques and skills needed to take your own captivating digital photos.  This course gives the basic concepts needed, and covers most types of camera.  Take only pictures, leave only bubbles!

Dives:  Level one = one Open Water dive; Level 2 = one Open Water Dive. 

Prerequisites: PADI Digital Underwater Photography is for all ages starting at 10 years old with at least the (Junior) Open Water diver. 

PADI DIVER PROPULSION VEHICLE (DPV)

Description: Fly over the reef like James Bond on a DPV.  Maximum exhilaration with minimum effort. The PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Specialty will take you through safety considerations, how to choose the right DPV for your dive, buddy contact, but most of all extreme underwater fun!

Dives: Two Open Water Dives on a DPV.

Prerequisites: DPV Specialty is for divers aged 12 years or over with the (Junior) Open Water diver. Fly over the reef!

PADI DRIFT DIVER

Description: Glide effortlessly over pristine coral reefs in a relaxing, gentle current.  Or fly like a superhero passed turtles and sharks on a fast current wall dive.  Whatever your preference, the PADI Drift Diver Specialty course will introduce you to the techniques, safety considerations and skills needed for this exhilarating form of diving found in many places around the world.

Dives: Two Open Water drift dives.

Prerequisites: PADI Drift Diver is for divers aged 12 years old with at least the (Junior) Open Water certification.  

PADI DRY SUIT DIVER

Description: Winter and cold weather doesn’t mean hanging up the fins for the season.  Throw on your dry suit and dive that frozen clear lake or amazing kelp forest.  The PADI Dry Suit Specialty course will teach you the special techniques and skills you need to understand buoyancy, avoiding problems and dry suit maintenance.  Dive all year round and stay warm!

Dives: One confined orientation dive followed by two Open Water Dives.

Prerequisites: You can become a PADI Dry Suit Diver at 10 years old if you hold the (Junior) Open Water certification. 

PADI Enriched Air Nitrox
PADI ENRICHED AIR (NITROX)

Description: Have you ever finished a dive with plenty of air and wished you could have stayed down longer?  Then the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Specialty is for you.  Extend your no decompression limits and spend more time at certain depths.  Perfect for photographers and wreck divers, this course will teach you techniques for obtaining, analyzing, logging and diving with different enriched air nitrox mixes.

Dives: There are no required dives on this course. (Two optional dives) To certify, there are some practical applications to complete in person to certify at your chosen dive centre. (We can help you to find out if there will be any additional charge for this)

Prerequisites: The PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox) is for divers a minimum age of 12 years old with the (Junior) Open Water certification.

PADI Equipment Specialty
PADI EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST

Description: Understand how your scuba diving equipment works.  The PADI Equipment Specialty course is an introduction to all types of equipment from BCDs and regulators to cylinders and wetsuits.  Whether you have a general interest in how it all functions, or are looking to buy your own equipment, this interactive “Touch” eLearning course shows you all you need to know.

Dives: There are no required dives with this course.

Prerequisites:  The PADI Equipment Specialist is a dry course with a great “Touch” interactive manual. The minimum age is 10 years old.

PADI Navigation Specialty
PADI UNDERWATER NAVIGATOR

Description: Underwater navigation can be challenging and many divers find themselves following their dive guide oblivious to direction. With better navigation skills you’ll feel more confident underwater knowing you’re heading the right way. The PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty will completely change the way you dive, teaching you how to use a compass and naturally navigate a dive site as well as using distance and time. Rise to the challenge and become a better navigator!

PADI Night Diver Specialty
PADI NIGHT DIVER

Description: Nothing can prepare you for the excitement you will feel preparing for your first night dive.  Descending into a completely different underwater realm, seen only through torch light.   The PADI Night Diver Specialty will teach you the skills and techniques needed to plan and navigate night dives, plus the equipment you will use and how to interact with marine life at night. See the underwater world in a different light!

Prerequisites: The minimum age for the PADI Night Diver is 12 years old. You must be at least a (Junior) Open Water diver. 

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Course
PADI PEAK BUOYANCY

Description: Fine tuning your buoyancy underwater is an art.  With the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty, you will learn how to hover neutrally buoyant in different positions, learn proper weighting, streamlining yourself to use less air, giving you longer dives.  Plus, having good buoyancy and trim makes you look cool!

PADI Search and Recovery
PADI SEARCH & RECOVERY

Description: This challenging and adventurous specialty will help to improve your underwater navigation skills as well as teach you how to plan search and recovery dives.  During The PADI Search and Recovery Specialty you will learn how to conduct different search patterns for different environments and how to rig and lift objects to the surface.  Who knows, maybe you will find some sunken treasure!

PADI Wreck Diver

Description: As you descend on a wreck it’s outline appears in front of you through the blue and you can’t wait to explore it’s corridors and decks filled with history.  The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty gives you the techniques and special skills needed to safely dive on wrecks. Whether it is the history of the wreck, or the marine life surrounding it, wreck diving is a favourite.
