Scuba Dive Online are thrilled to announce our brand-new partnership with the 1st PADI Pro training liveaboard in Thailand, “The Phinisi”. This luxurious liveaboard has recently earned the prestigious title of the 1st official PADI 5-star IDC Liveaboard in Thailand. Moreover, we will be the 1st team of PADI Course Directors to offer the Instructor Development Course and all other PADI Pro courses whilst cruising western Thailand’s breathtaking dive sites.
The Phinisi
The Phinisi is a purpose-built diving vessel maintaining the history and beauty of a typical ‘Indonesian Phinisi’ while offering modern comforts and luxury services. Dive the best parts of Thailand and set sea under her iconic red sails. Relax on the sun deck or kick-back in the saloon with your choice from the library of movies, books and games.
Incredible food is served up buffet-style with covered indoor and outdoor dining options. There is an unlimited supply of teas and freshly ground coffee. When it’s time to dive, 2 support RIBs will drop you at the perfect site location.
How does it work?
Scuba Dive Online has a unique training system which fully prepares you for your pro level course in advance. You will have completed academics and online workshops before boarding, leaving plenty of time to complete the in-water sessions whilst cruising in the lap of luxury. This creative trip scheduling allows us to offer FULL PADI Instructor and Divemaster programs onboard.
Additionally, the entire journey is led by the most respected PADI Course Directors and recognised liveaboard companies in the world. This is a never-before-offered PADI Pro training experience.

How to prepare.
Before joining “The Phinisi” for your PADI Pro course, you will have completed the appropriate PADI eLearning for your course and attended our online classes. Scuba Dive Online will supply you with your PADI eLearning crewpak.
Next, from the comfort of your own home and in your own time, you can work your way through the knowledge reviews and study materials. Our team will monitor your progress remotely and will guide you through the online process all the way. We recommend starting your studies and preparation at least 2 weeks before boarding. The more prepared you are, the more you will enjoy this incredible learning experience.
For the IDC.
There are 16 eLearning knowledge reviews to complete before attending your “IDC LIVE” online. We host two IDC LIVE online courses per month beginning on the 1st or the 15th. Each IDC LIVE takes place over 8 consecutive days for approximately 3 hours per day (The 8th day being reserved for EFR Instructor academics). The workshops and presentations cover all the IDC curriculum, leaving just the in-water sessions and a few knowledge development presentations to complete once you arrive at The Phinisi. Also, we can accommodate different time zones to fit it in with your daily work schedule.

For the Divemaster.
There are 9 eLearning knowledge reviews to complete before attending your Divemaster live Dive Theory presentations with the Scuba Dive Online team. We schedule Dive Theory Live presentations twice per month to coincide with the IDC. The presentations cover all 5 dive theory topics, Physics, Physiology, Equipment, Skills and Environment and Decompression Theory. This will leave the in-water sessions to complete once you arrive at The Phinisi.

Your Itinerary.
We’ve created a unique diving schedule to meet training requirements while visiting the best dive sites on the west coast of Thailand. For shallow water workshops The Phinisi will moor up in a sheltered bay with calm conditions and beautiful reefs to explore afterwards. For the deeper water scenarios, the boat will drop us into the blue where we’ll dive on pinnacles, walls and wrecks. Sightings of giant Groupers, Morays, Trevally, Manta Rays and Whalesharks are common on our route! With a variety of dive sites and environments we can even arrange Pro Specialty training to run concurrent with Divemaster and Instructor programmes.
Other PADI Pro Level courses available.
Besides the IDC and Divemaster courses, we are also offering Master Scuba Diver Trainer Prep (MSDT), PADI IDC Staff Instructor and Master Instructor prep on every pro level trip. These highly sought after PADI professional ratings can be taught alongside the IDC training on the Phinisi.
The MSDT Prep. consists of 5 PADI Instructor Specialties which are conducted with a PADI Course Director. This benefits candidates by not only learning how to teach each specialty to their own students, but also gaining tips and tricks from some of the best diving educators in the world. Popular Instructor specialties include Enriched Air Nitorx, Deep, Wreck, Night and Emergency Oxygen Provider.
